Differentiating a Surgical Commodity for VACs

[Confidential Commercial Client]

The client had developed a surgical supply used in laparoscopic surgical procedures. Surgical supply had become a “commodity”.  The client wanted to demonstrate that their supply was associated with reduced hospital costs due to superior performance, reduction in complications. As a solution, TTi developed the study protocol and conducted a retrospective case-match study, comparing patients using the client’s supply to those using a comparator supply.  TTi collected and analyzed billing data for identified patients. Results showed that the client’s supply led to reduced OR time and reduced time in recovery as well as reduced medication costs, creating a compelling VAC argument for adoption of their supply.
