TTi developed a facility-perspective economic model and sales tool to demonstrate the cost-effectiveness of a two-part chemical disinfectant for preventing hospital-acquired infections.  The model calculated the expected hospital costs associated with spray disinfection of hospital rooms using the a new one-step cleaner and disinfectant versus hypochlorite (bleach).  The sales tool allowed facilities to enter hospital-specific data related to spray disinfection as well as the relevant cost-related data, allowing customization of the model.  To provide assistance to the facility in the absence of hospital-specific data, base case values were provided based on literature review, publicly available data, and expert opinion where required.  Using the hospital-provided data, the model calculates the annual and monthly cost savings potential for the hospital.
